Warning! Need To Know Math To Understand!
Lets say you have a sequence of numbers that starts at one and doubles each time.
1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + ....goes on forever.
Obviously, that sequence equals itself.
1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + .... = 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + ....
If we multiply the other side by one, we will get the same thing right?
1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + .... = 1 (1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + ....)
1 is equal to 2 -1 right? "2 - 1 = 1"
1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + .... = (2 - 1)(1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + ....)
If we use distributive property, we get this.

1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + .... = (2 - 1)(1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 + 32 + ....)
If we use distributive property, we get this.
Almost everything on the right side cancels each other out. -1 + 1 = 0
