What do you know about time? You probably think that you know exactly what time is and how it works. That is where you are wrong. Nobody who has ever lived will ever know everything about time. Here is one thing we do know, hat you probably didn't. It's called time dilation.
What is time dilation?
Time dilation is the difference in elapsed time between two events as measured by observers either moving relative to each other or
differently situated from gravitational masses. In other words, two accurate clocks each being observed by a person may tick at different rates depending on certain factors.

Gravity
Gravity slows down time. The stronger the gravity there is, the slower time ticks. That means that time is faster on the moon because it has less gravity, and time is slower on Jupiter because it has more gravity. The farther you are from the center of gravity, the faster time will tick for you. That means that your head is older than your feet because time ticks faster for your head than your feet.
Velocity
Moving at high speeds also slow down time. The satellites moving in low orbit around the Earth are moving at 18000 miles per hour. So time moves slower for them than on the surface of the planet. Astronauts in orbit come back slightly younger than they would be if they stayed on the planet.
